Early Influences

Taj Austin born in California raised in Florida is the son of the well-received R&B singer/ songwriter Teedra Moses (Mother) and the Underground Hip-Hop legend Raskass (Father). These two strong forces of influence birthed Taj’s engagement within music from a young age.

Sound Development

Taj’s sound consist of both the smooth West coast musicality combined with hard East coast bass heavy instrumentation as well as gratifying hints of jazz infused sounds for the distinction.


Taj Austin has committed his journey to pioneering a sound and movement that leads with quality and authenticity. Taj’s movement which bares the emblem “•T$D€K•” represents $oul’s €quity which implies rich in spirit. His goal is to create a core following of supporters that ultimately gain a sense of wealth from his music.


Career Accomplishments

Committing to music indefinitely back in the year 2013, Taj Austin has accomplished a series of performances and multiple number of project releases since then with many more to come. Taj’s first compilation release was with his music crew under the umbrella name Coast Contra with the project titled “The Coast Contra Tape Vol. 1” in the year of 2014 on August 18th.

This project did great reviews and also led to Taj’s first performances in Miami, FL at sweat records as a headliner. since then Taj has performed in many different cities and even huge festivals such as SXSW which hosts plenty of A-lists artists. Taj Austin outside of music, is a multi-talented artist involved with fashion design and modeling as well. In the bottom of the year 2015 Taj and his associates (Ras Austin and RioLoz) of Coast Contra made R.I.O.T. clothing. The acronym R.I.O.T. standing for “resisting injustice oppression together” which is still an extremely successful business venture.
